The back story

About Cascais and Estoril: the coast by train

West of Lisbon, the Cascais line follows the Tagus to the sea: Estoril with its casino and gardens, then Cascais, a fishing town turned resort around its bay. Beyond Cascais the coast turns to the Atlantic at Guincho, a long beach of wind and dunes (visitcascais.com).
